Part 2. How to Connect "the Surge Protector" Correctly

October 1, 2018

Step 1.  Ensure you understand the wiring correctly before you connect the power.

In the diagram above you can see the Surge Protection Device has been connected parallel to the TN System(earthing system).

This is to ensure that should there be any surge or lightning strike that all current flowing to your PSU and LEDs is terminated at the Surge protection device.

Step 2.  Double check your wiring before connecting to the power source.

Please ensure that when you have switched the power on that the LED indicators on the SPD are illuminated green. This will show that you have correctly wired the SPD  to the PSU and LED's, as seen in the image below.

The green LED indicators mean that the SPD is working properly, your power supply and LED's are now all well protected.

⚡️ Response time < 25 Nano seconds 7  SPD-20 threshold 1600VAC constantly for 1 minute ⚡️

N.B. Circuit breaker can be used to connect to multiple SPD's.

Step 3. You have now successfully installed the SPD-20 to your lighting system.

You can now complete your installation with confidence knowing that your signs are protected by the best.

N.B. During normal operation, both LED indicators will light on.

If any one or both LED indicator is off, a replacement is needed.
